Project Overview

Commercial / Office

Rock Building Services Group were appointed by our long-term client, SOWGA, to upgrade the main electrical distribution panels at their site in Bath. The project formed part of planned infrastructure improvements to ensure the electrical systems remained safe, compliant, and capable of supporting the ongoing operational demands of the building.

Project Challenges

The building was fully occupied during normal business hours, meaning any interruption to electrical services would have caused significant disruption. The challenge was to complete the works safely while maintaining business continuity and ensuring compliance with current electrical standards.

Our Solution

We worked closely with the client to programme the works outside of normal business hours. Detailed pre-planning and sequencing allowed our engineers to carry out safe isolations, panel upgrades, and recommissioning efficiently within the allocated out-of-hours windows.

Full Scope of Works

  1. Survey and assessment of existing electrical distribution panels
  2. Detailed planning and programming of out-of-hours works
  3. Safe isolation of existing electrical supplies
  4. Upgrade and replacement of main electrical distribution panels
  5. Associated cabling and containment works
  6. Testing, inspection, and certification
  7. Recommissioning prior to reoccupation

The Result

  1. Electrical infrastructure upgraded safely and efficiently
  2. No disruption to building occupants or operations
  3. Improved compliance and long-term reliability
  4. Works delivered in line with programme
